Her knowledge of the pregnant body and its capabilities and limitations is impressive. Kate helped me balance my physical and emotional states so well. She truly applies a holistic approach to her training sessions and ensures both mind and body are taken care of. Kate made me realize just how much I was capable of, and helped me get all my pushing muscles ready for the big day! Although I was in labor for many hours, I pushed my baby girl out in 15 minutes!   -Eileen

My 3 hour pushing led to a ballet barre and me squatting (with an epidural and couldn’t feel my legs).  I COULD NOT have done it without the arm and upper body strength I had from our workouts.  -G.Z.

Kate helped be tremendously in both body and mind during and after my pregnancy.  She helped me listen to my body and tailored workouts to however I was feeling on a particular day.  She knows so much about the prenatal and postpartum body and I always felt comfortable with her. I had diastasis recti and she knew which exercises were safe for me to do and how to help me build up my core strength slowly.  -Lauren

“I have always been a runner and very active.  But by my second trimester my regular exercise routines just weren’t feeling good.  I was straining muscles and risking injury.  I took Kate’s prenatal strength training classes religiously through the rest of my pregnancy.  It was exactly what I needed – physically and psychologically!  The classes were always challenging with moves that were really tailored to work the pregnant body. And most importantly I always felt safe following Kate’s instruction.  As a result I felt strong and healthy throughout my pregnancy.

Kate appropriately calls the final sequence in the workout the ‘final push.’  But I didn’t realize the benefits of the class in truly preparing me for labor and delivery until I experienced them firsthand. This was my second child and she sure came quickly (just 6 minutes in the delivery room!).  I had always planned on having pain medications, but wasn’t able to this time around. I can tell you that the prenatal strength training seriously helped me get through this incredibly intense and emotional experience. I was fortunate to also recover and bounce back quite quickly.” -B.C.

I just wanted to thank you for all of your great instruction & guidance in our strength training class these last 9 months!  I needed to tap into all those reservoirs of physical/emotional strength as she was born on July 19th…in our house! She came extra fast, my mother & our doula delivering her as I was supported by my husband in “triceps-dip” position on the bench in our vestibule. 😉  The paramedics got there 10 minutes later!  We are all well and adjusting to newborn life!   -S.K.

We started working together when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant.  Right from the beginning working with Kate was great.  It was hard work, but also a little like an hour getting to chat with a good friend.  On top of all that she was able to push me and keep me in great shape through the end of my pregnancy.  We worked hard together right up until my delivery. As I was breathing between contractions one of the nurses said, “Next contraction try to relax your legs, but keep pushing.” Instantly I heard Kate’s voice. So many times as she ran me through exercises she had asked me to do the same thing. In the end I pushed hard, but for 30 minutes. Then he was there; in my arms and perfect. I know this process was directly aided by my work with Kate.   -Erin

Hey Kate!  I delivered Bryn last Wednesday and wanted to just say thank you so much for all your support because the workouts definitely helped during labor! The big surprise was that my arms were SOOO sore from pulling myself up on my legs during pushing. The work we did in class definitely helped. BICEP CURLS!!! Already missing class and looking forward to mom and baby strength classes as soon as possible!  Thank you!  -E.M.

I am so happy to share that our baby boy arrived super early in the morning just 6 or 7 hours after your class.  He hurled into the world in under 4 hours and was actually born in the ER… with no time to get to labor & delivery.  It was shocking, wild and intense, especially after our daughter had to be pried out at 42 weeks with a 30 hour induction.  Birth is definitely unpredictable – lesson learned!  We are now home safe and sound… and all is well.  I want you to know that your class and teachings was my number one tool that got me through such a fast and furious labor.  You and your voice were there with me through it all and when I really, really, really didn’t think I could push him out I channeled the strength that I learned in your class.  I cannot thank you enough.  I am certain I am not alone in this and many of your pupils with feel your motivation during their own experiences.  I am absolutely going to miss your classes and hopefully will be back for more once I am able to!  You are the BEST and I am so grateful!   -Ehren

Kate – I just wanted to reach out and thank you for the BodyWiseMama studio.  It’s given me a sense of normalcy throughout my first pregnancy during the pandemic and helped me feel great as I make my way into my third trimester!!  Thank you for all you do.  My good friend from Philly got me into the program and now I’m addicted!  -Nicole from Chicago

“Kate had her work cut out for her with me as a student! I first showed up with an ambivalent attitude towards exercise and a genuine fear of attending a Strength Training class, because I thought I was too weak. What a transformation I made!

I met Kate during the 2nd trimester of my pregnancy and I loved her class immediately. I felt so committed to it – the amazing way I felt during and after the workouts and the noticable changes in my body (and mind and spirit!), that I vowed to myself I would show up every week until the baby was born. And I did. The payoff of this decision was immense. I was achieving demonstrable results that I was so proud of. I couldn’t have stuck with it without Kate coaching me to believe in myself and that I could indeed do it.

My partner & I were committed to trying to attain a low-intervention, natural, drug-free birth. What is so special about Kate is her training gave me not only physical strength, but the FAITH in myself to work to accomplish these goals for the birth. The support I received from Kate’s Prenatal Strength Training class allowed me the ability recognize my own internal strength and to know that no matter what happened in the delivery room I would do my very best and give it my all. I heard Kate’s voice in my head when things got tough during active labor, the same way I had heard it every week of class, telling me to “keep going, you got this!” And it was true! I DID IT!

Kate made me feel AWESOME and so confident in my abilities, not only with regard to giving birth but as a strong, healthy person able to face and conquer the world postpartum! I cannot thank her enough.” -L.L.W.
